Vision Alignment

You are passionate about your business and your team.

You have a vision, and your eyes are set on growth, quality and success. You are focused on making sure the day-in and day-out activities of your team are advancing toward that vision. 

Our primary service offering helps clients ensure that their policies, practices, and communications are aligned with the organization’s vision.

We begin with an initial conversation to learn about your origin story, what brought you to seek a partner like Butterfly Benefits, and to identify key stakeholders for our work together. From there, we will propose a project plan, which may include some or all of the following phases:

Discovery

Through a series of meetings with Key Stakeholders, we will collaboratively assess what your people understand the organization’s stated vision to be; what they view as the organization’s “vision in practice” to be; what their own vision for the organization would be; and any discrepancies between each. 

For larger or more complex organizations, a Deep Dive phase is added for this purpose.

Designed Alignment

We design customized recommendations (benefits, policies, practices, etc.)  for your organization that will put you – and keep you – on a consistent path toward your vision. In some cases, this might be simple changes to Time Off policies or adding a Flex Spending Account to your medical benefits; or it could be the creation of a Parental Leave benefit, the implementation of Employee Resource Groups, or developing a monthly team newsletter to share stories about colleagues and news about the organization.

The recommendations, at both the micro and macro level, will be tailor-fit to the needs of your team; now and as you plan for the future.

Implementation

The people already working within an organization are most often the best people to do the hands-on work of implementing changes. For this reason, implementation is not a required component of our service offering, but we provide options for assistance.

We can work in close (or distant) partnership with internal practitioners to aid in their implementation, or when the opportunity is right, we can fully manage the implementation of select policies or programs. The latter is likely a recommendation when there will be ongoing training or learning sessions related to DEI initiatives or inter-organizational interactions.

Measure & Learn

All good Plan A’s come with a Plan B (or C, D, …K). While our recommendations are based on tested methods, best practices, or prior successes, and are vetted by diverse specialists, people and organizations can be unpredictable.

For a more complex engagement, we may recommend this "Measure & Learn" service, as a testing phase. This creates the opportunity to closely monitor, in real time, the implementation of the Designed Alignment. This process works similarly to the Discovery phase, with a hyper-focus on the changes made during Implementation.

Ongoing Evaluation & Updates

Even veteran organizations continue to change with time. The people in the organization change – whether through churn or even personal growth of consistent employees. The external forces pressing on an organization change constantly. 

If substantial changes are recommended by Butterfly Benefits, or your organization anticipates significant growth or other major changes in the 3 years following Discovery, we will likely recommend our Ongoing Evaluation phase. Depending on your organization's needs, this could be as simple as quarterly check-in phone calls, to make sure everything remains on track. Or, it could be as involved as weekly meetings to closely monitor progress and make recommendations that keep your policies and practices aligned with the other changes to your organization.

People at all levels of an organization have information that can help, concerns that should be addressed and feedback that can benefit colleagues, customers or clients, and the organization as a whole.

We help ensure that organizations have systems in place to ensure all people involved are heard and understood, and that their communication is in service to the organization’s goals and values.

Breaking Bread

Good rapport is a vital component of a healthy and productive relationship. This is especially true when people will work together for extended periods, they haven’t met prior to being assigned to the same team, the project is demanding or mission critical, or the issues involved are personal, sensitive or contentious. Often, when one of these elements is present, multiple – sometimes, all – are present.

Sharing a meal – even a snack or coffee – is a great way to cultivate strong relationships. We facilitate “dinner parties” that allow your people to establish good rapport through conversations that are professionally intimate, allowing for safe vulnerability and empathy development.

These can be literally dinner parties, with up to a dozen or so people, sitting around a table or two, with facilitators keeping a casual, but intentional, conversation building your people up. They can also be smaller coffee meet-ups with a few folks.
